Is it possible to achieve dreams, or it is just a popular saying that makes no sense? Well, achieving dreams is possible, and actually very straightforward. But, there are a few hard steps you have to take for converting your dreams into reality. Here is a proven success formula used by almost all successful people.
Realistic Dreams
This step is the most important of all. If you have a dream to be the tallest man in the world or to fly like a bird, you will suffer disappointments. In a nutshell, a dream is a goal or definition that can be reached by a dedicated pathway. Therefore, if you want to achieve a dream, you should ask yourself- Is this practically possible?
An Action Plan
If you are reading this point, you might have a realistic plan. So, let’s make an action plan for it. An action plan is a series of small steps that can be interconnected to reach the final goal or destination. If your goal does not have an action plan, you will never achieve it. For example, if you want to go to space (yes, it is a practical goal), here is how an action plan for that looks like:
- Find whether your country has a space mission, or is it coming up with a space mission. If not, then find countries that have one.
- Find the requirements for being a part of that mission. Do you need specific education or do you need to give an exam?
- Work hard to get an admission
- Identify if everyone will visit the space or a few selected people. If a few people will get selected, then how to be eligible?
- Work hard to get the eligibility
- Enjoy
Don’t worry if this action plan looks entirely pointless. This action plan was just an example to show you that any dream you have; it should be divided into actionable steps. Consider this golden rule- If a dream cannot be written on paper, it cannot be achieved.
Commitment
Working towards achieving your dream can have two outcomes. In the first case, you follow your plan, work very hard, and finally achieve your dream. However, this happens rarely. In most cases, you will encounter problems and obstacles in your journey. Taking the example of space travel, chances are you work hard but fail to get an admission. Or you get admission but don’t get selected for going to space. When such things happen, most people quit, but a few people stay. And those who stay finally make it.
