Introvert to Extrovert – What You Need To Do?

Introvert?

There is nothing wrong with being an introvert. Everyone has both introvert and extrovert traits, and most people fall somewhere in between. And, in many cases, the level of introversion or extroversion depends upon the day or recent experiences. Sometimes, introverts are made to feel as if there is something wrong with them. This is absolutely wrong because being introvert is a natural personality trait. Although personality traits are hard-wired and not possible to change, you can take a few steps to reduce your introversion.

Who is an Introvert or Extrovert?

Introverts seek out solitude and prefer to be alone. Introverts seek less simulation and are not comfortable with bright lights and loud music. Introverts prefer working alone or in a group of two to three people instead of a whole group. Similarly, they don’t like to socialize and prefer the company of one or two close friends. Extroverts are exactly the opposite. They like to work around people, love sensory simulation, and like working with groups.

Introverts – Step Out of Your Comfort Zone

To minimize your introvert traits, you need to step out of your comfort zone. To get started, you need to make a list of things you feel uncomfortable to do. Different people have different situations in which they feel uncomfortable. Some people don’t prefer going out to eat, some people are not comfortable talking to strangers, some people cannot talk to their colleagues, and many more. All you need to do is make a list of all these things and then start doing them one by one. E.g., if you don’t like to go out and dine, do so. If you cannot talk to your colleagues, do so. The more you step out of your comfort zone, the better it will get for you.

Handle Personal Relationships

Start checking in with others. As an introvert, you should realize that not everyone gets recharged from being in solitude. You should start initiating conversations with your closed ones. Even a “hello” is good to get started. A big mistake introverts make is that they don’t express. If you are an introvert, the chances are that you never give expressions while talking to someone. Doing this might confuse other people about whether you are enjoying their company or not. Fix this by constantly acknowledging and expressing your feelings. If you are feeling nice or enjoying while talking to someone, tell them openly.
